High-roof Sprinters measure roughly 6 feet 4 inches from floor to ceiling and about 70 inches wide, with roughly 53 inches between the rear wheel wells. Interior length behind the front seats runs from about 11 feet on the 144-inch wheelbase to more than 15 feet on the 170-inch extended body used for passenger vans. Those measurements are why three-across seating works without shoulder-jamming, and why a fourth row can be added or removed to change the vehicle's whole personality.
Seating configurations you will encounter
Fifteen passenger: four rows, every seat belted, shallow rear shelf. Twelve passenger: three rows, every seat belted, deep luggage bay. Executive: four to fourteen reclining leather captain's chairs, often facing each other over tables. Limousine conversion: perimeter sofas and club lighting. Camper: bed, galley, storage. The same shell supports all five, so always confirm the configuration rather than the model name when you book — 'Sprinter' alone does not tell you how many people will fit.
Safety and driver-facing equipment
Every seating position in a factory passenger Sprinter has a three-point belt. Current models offer crosswind assist, attention assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist and available active brake assist — systems tuned for a tall vehicle with a long wheelbase. The driver's cabin runs MBUX with a touchscreen, voice control and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a high seating position and large mirrors that make the vehicle far easier to place than its size suggests.
