The clearance trade-off
At roughly 9 to 10 feet tall, a high-roof Sprinter exceeds the clearance of many parking structures, drive-throughs, older loading docks and some hotel entrances. Plan routes with surface parking, note the vehicle's exact height when you pick it up, and treat every posted clearance sign as a hard limit rather than a suggestion. Roof-mounted equipment such as air conditioning or solar adds a few more inches, so never assume the factory figure covers an upfitted van.
High roof vs. standard roof by use case
Book the high roof for any passenger group, any trip over two hours, any build with cabinetry, and anything where people will board and exit repeatedly. Choose the standard roof only if your route is defined by low clearances — dense urban delivery, a specific garage you must enter daily, or a fleet policy. For rental customers moving groups, the high roof is effectively the only sensible option, which is why our fleet does not stock anything else in passenger trim.
